I work as an instrumentalist and conductor with numerous musicians, ensembles and composers.

As an accordionist, I studied with Prof. Ivan A. Jaschkewitsch and Prof. Elsbeth Moser, among others, and won first prizes at many international competitions, including the „Citta-Castelfidardo“ and the „International Accordion Days Klingenthal“. I have worked as a soloist with numerous orchestras, including the NDR Sinfonieorchester Hamburg, the Niedersächsisches Staatsorchester Hannover, the Orchestra of the Staatstheater Braunschweig and the Ensemble Contemporaine de Montréal, and have participated in the premieres of numerous works and in various productions.

As a conductor I studied with Prof. Wladimir Sirenko („P. I. Tschaikowsky“ Academy of Music in Kiev, Ukrainian National Philharmonic Orchestra) and after further conducting workshops (among others with Prof. Johannes Schöllhorn, HMTMH Hannover) I worked as a conductor with the ensembles Scintilla Divina and Megaphon and the ensemble of the ZfGM at the HMT Leipzig, among others.

Above all, as the long-time director of the ensemble „incontri“ and artistic and musical director of the ensemble „ur.werk“, I have been involved in numerous world premieres of chamber music, orchestral and music-theatrical contemporary works. In this context, I am particularly dedicated to promoting younger composers.

I have worked closely with numerous composers and have interpreted premieres of works by Vinko Globokar, Michael Hirsch, Matthias Pintscher, Jean Lesage, Joachim Heintz, Eunyoung Kim, Gordon Williamson, Fabio Nieder, Daniel Ott and Manos Tsangaris, among others. I have also worked as a performer with Sofia Gubaidulina, Hans-Joachim Hespos, Adriana Hölszky, Ana Sokolović, Fabien Lévy, Darija Andovska and Peter Gahn.

Personally, as an artist and composer, the synergetic elements that arise from working with other musicians and composers are very important to me, as I firmly believe that the most valuable ability of „good“ music and art is still to strengthen interpersonal communication in a productive and inspiring way, thereby opening and sharpening our ears and eyes.
